Trapped in minecraft short story

CRACK! Is that a whip? No, it’s the sound of a cracking offer. For a limited time only, get up to $20k off all double storey houses. Only with Harcourts. Da, da da da. “Boring” I grumbled. “I hate ads” I added. I switched the tv off and decided to explore the attic. I climbed the stairs which creaked with every step. Finally I reached the ladder to the attic. I climbed up and noticed how much dust was on everything. I reached the top and started coughing and breathing the musty air. “What is that thing?” I asked curiously.

As I edged closer to the mysterious piece of technology to stare into its sparking components, my shirt snagged on a weird piece of flesh protruding from the device. ‘Funny, I didn’t see that before’ I thought to myself. I swished my purple hair which was flying all over the place, to look back at the eerie technology when I heard a  loud crack! I turned around and stared at the flesh. It twitched. “Freaky” I whispered to nobody in particular ( In case you haven’t noticed, I’m not that bright). Suddenly, the hunk of rotten flesh representing a hand pulled me into the mechanism.

As I began to regain consciousness, I looked around at my surroundings to find everything looking blocky. “ Wait a minute, this is minecraft” I said accusingly. Minecraft was my favourite video game and I was a pro at it. I meandered to a nearby village to seek shelter. As I arrived, the sight I saw astounded me. There was a full on war between mobs and villagers there. A nearby villager told me to go to the blacksmith and get some weapons and armour.

I was all suited up. I had a full set of diamond armour with Fire Resistance ll and Unbreaking V. I had a diamond sword with Knockback Vll and Sharpness IX. I had a enchanted bow with Affinity Vl and Flame lll. I even had 20 arrows of lingering poison. I also had 5 of each of these potions: instant health, regeneration, invisibility. I felt like nothing could stop me. All of my equipment was emitting a radiant purple glow.

I still needed to get some building blocks, food and traps and maybe some redstone. As I ran to the ender chest in the town square, I heard hundreds of arrows rushing past my head. I glanced to the source of the hail of arrows to see hundreds of skeletons driving the villagers back. I reached the ender chest and retrieved 10 dispensers, 10 levers and 640 TNT.

I built the TNT cannon that I hoped would help the villagers gain some ground. Just as I placed the last lever, all I could see was pitch black. “It’s night time” I heard a villager yell before their voice was drowned out by the deafening screams of unsuspecting villagers being reduced to tears. BOOM! I heard a massive explosion that I guessed was a creeper blowing up my TNT cannon.

Suddenly there was… silence? That meant there weren’t mobs. But that couldn’t be right. I looked around cautiously, waiting for a mob to pounce and devour my health in seconds. Then I saw him. The virus in minecraft everybody hated. Herobrine. He was known for destroying thousands of villages with his corrupted iron pickaxe. I looked around expecting to see all the villagers with their bows aimed at him. But I saw all the villagers in their huts, cowering in fear. “Great, just me and Herobrine” I grumbled.

I turned around to see him sprinting towards me, his pickaxe glowing with power. As I drew my sword to face him, he made the first contact. His pickaxe made a deafening CRACK as it made contact with my head. THUD! I slumped against the wall and tried to clear my head. I looked around to see my potions shattered, my weapons splinters and armour mangled. That meant I had nothing to use to parry his next blow. Then he charged towards me. I barely dodged his blow and wedged his pickaxe into the cobblestone wall where I was laying a couple of seconds ago.

By the time he got his pickaxe unstuck, I had found a wooden sword that had one hit left. We both charged at each other, hoping not to miss our target.
My sword hit Herobrine square in his head. That was the last thing I saw before I blacked out.

I woke up to find the villagers partying to their hearts desire. “What’s going on” I groggily asked the nearest villager. “YOU DID IT! YOU DEFEATED HEROBRINE ONCE AND FOR ALL” the villager squealed with excitement. I was praised as a hero and sent back home.

“Honey, can you clean the dishes” my mum asked me. “Sure Mum” I replied. When I got to the kitchen my sister asked me what I was doing. “I was in minecra… I will tell you you another time” I replied with a smile, beginning to scrub the frying pan.
