Chapter One – Planet X

Darkness. Spinning endlessly. Void everywhere I look. Suddenly the spinning stops. My vision turns black. When I come to, I’m lying face up, looking up at the stars. My friends, Elliot and Finn are lying next to me, still unconscious. I look down. A flat expanse of red rock goes as far as I can see. We’re wearing space suits. I wake my friends. I quickly explain the situation to them. I stop mid-sentence as aliens surround us, laser guns in their hands. One of them says “Come with us … or else!” He aims his laser gun at us, and mimes pulling the trigger. “We surrender,” I say and all three of us put our hands in the air.
