Smithy’s tale book 1 by Judah

“Clang, Clang, Clang,” went Smithy’s hammer as he pounded on a piece of iron. Today was his second year as an apprentice to the local blacksmith.

It seemed like only a day or two ago that he and his father, Watcher, had begun their journey to the master blacksmith’s shop. It had been a bright day and Smithy remembered thinking that he would one day make armor as bright as the sun.

“You were born to be a smith,” his father had said as they entered the shop. Smithy had heard Watcher say it so many times he barely noticed as they entered the shop Smithy saw old Blacksmith sitting at his desk. Watcher had sometimes sent him to the shop to mend his diamond sword and Blacksmith had gotten to know him well.

So far he liked his job. It was fun he got to make different kinds of swords, helmets, shields, chanemail, legging, and boots plus he enchanted them too. Today Smithy was supposed to give Blaster, his father’s cousin, an iron sword enchanted with knockback 4. He had just finished enchanting it when he heard the sound  “ZOMBIES AT THE FRONT OF THE VILLAGE.”

Immediately Smithy shot up the battlements. He wasn’t one of those archers who shot flaming arrows at the monsters but it was always fun to watch his dad fight on the battlefield. Watcher was the best swordsman and the best archer in the village. His diamond sword was so fast it was like lightning. Most warriors had trouble keeping track of his sword but not Smithy. He had learned to watch Watcher’s battles perfectly. Today a big zombie lumbled over. He was wearing a diamond helmet enchanted with projectile protection and armor the same way. He had a diamond sword enchanted with fire aspect 5, looting 5,  knockback 5, bane of Arpathados, and the disappearing enchantment. Smithy trusted his dad’s skill as a wizard but that zombie was way too powerful. He will get crushed like a bug thought Smithy. Just then the zombie spoke,

“Wizard, not even your tremendous power can stop Ve-Nor.”

”And that’s when you’re wrong,”said Watcher. “For I defeated Erebus king of the endermen and Ze-Nar king of the zombies.”

Immediately both opponents charged. The villagers had told countless tales about the battle between Watcher and the zombie king. Watcher had barely survived the fight and lived to tell the tale but back then he had only fought to protect Planter, Smithy’s mother. But now he had two sons to worry about so he was more determined to win and had a better chance than last time. Watcher raised his sword high into the air. A bolt of lightning sprang from the sword and struck Ve-Nor. The zombie flashed red again and again and again until he disappeared leaving behind his armor and experience points. Ve-Nor was dead.

Later at home Smithy asked, “Who is Erebus?” So Watcher began to tell the story about how Lady Char had kidnapped Planter, how Watcher had set off on a quest to rescue her, how they had joined forces with someone named Gameknight999 from the Overworld, how they had defeated Lady Char and transformed her into something called poop, and how Watcher had battled Ze-Nar and killed Erebus as he was mourning Ze-Nar’s loss, and freed Planter and returned home.

“And now,” finished Watcher, “we’re living in a time of relative peace. Nothing to worry about but the occasional monster attack.” Just then Hunter, Blaster’s daughter rushed in.

“Sorry for bothering you” she said “but about eighteen villagers just showed up in front of our village and are asking for you.”

“Tell them I will be there in a second” said Watcher and turned back to Smithy “stay there” he said. “I will be back soon.” Smithy nodded and began working on a wooden sword he was making for himself so next time there was a fight Smithy could join in. A minute later Planter came in.

“Where’s Watcher?” she said

“Some villagers wanted him,” said Smithy. Planter nodded and started out. Soon Digger came in.

“Watcher’s called a meeting” he said Smithy dropped the sword and rushed out the door. Watcher’s meetings always had something new that was interesting and Smithy had a feeling it was about the villagers. When he got to the crafting tower he saw that everyone else was already tense. Clearly some had as always begun an argument on whether it was necessary to call a meeting almost every single day                    and today it had gotten out of hand. Ignoring the protesters Smithy sat down on a chair and waited for Watcher. When Watcher arrived he said “Things are changing around here. today eighteen villagers came here and told me that their village was destroyed by spider jockeys which are baby skeletons who ride Spiders and chicken jockeys which are baby  zombies who ride chickens

“Any adult zombies and skeletons?” someone asked

“Riding skeleton and zombie horses” answered Watcher. That sent the village into a panic. Everyone ran home and began gathering as many weapons as possible then crafting more. dozens of people began asking for their weapons to be enchanted. Everyone was running around screaming and yelling “SILENCE?” Watcher yelled “Panicking is the last thing we should do. We should form together with other villages and fight this army together.” The villagers cheered and began preparing. Some of the villagers began to  mine cobblestone with a pickaxe while others brought the blocks to yet more villagers who began to build stone defenses. Soon a gigantic wall surrounded the village with guard towers five blocks between each other. Blaster leading a group of men to begin working on some redstone traps. Soon the village was armed to the teeth with defenses. “Just a minute” said Watcher and he took Smithy down a tunnel to a gigantic room. In the room there was a large black dragon egg with specks of white all around it and in between, and it was hatching.
