WILD CATS

   Book 1- The Adventures Beyond

   Prologue:

The cold gray light of the night glowed over the center of the forest, Revealing a skinny brown tabby with white splotches. Behind him followed about six other cats
“Are you sure this is where we should be going,  Cinder Spot?” asked an orange tabby with a white tail and white paws.
“Yes, I’m sure, did you think I wasn’t?” Snapped the brown tabby. The orange cat stayed silent.
Then a sleek black tabby spoke, glancing ahead of them, “I see it! A large forest with a river going in front of it!” He pointed with his tail at a giant pine forest that was on a long hill, a waterfall leading from it to a river. On the river going across were very small rocks, but each one was big enough for only one cat at a time.
“We’re finally here,” said Cinder Spot.

Chapter 1

A sleek black tabby awoke to find himself in a large forest full of pine trees. He was still getting used to the area- he had only been here for two nights and one day. He decided to see how everyone else was doing, and then walked over to an orange tabby with a white tail and white feet.
“Hey, White Paw! Wake up!”
“Huh? Wha? Where am, oh, right. Good morning Black Foot.”
“Come on, White Paw. We need to get going for food. The others are hungry.”
“Okay, Let’s go!” yelled Black Foot as she raced off.
“Hey, wait for me!” yelled White paw, struggling to get up then dashing after Black Foot.
The two of them then sat still and listened. No sound came.
“Wait!” whispered Black Foot. “I hear something!”
The two listened and then saw two shrews in the bushes. They immediately went into stalk position. But just as they pounced, another cat jumped, barreling into them.
“Just what do you think you’re doing, trying to steal my prey?”

Chapter 2

White Paw and Black Foot just stood there, frozen with fear.
“Nobody steals my prey! Especially not Rog- wait, White Paw? Black foot? What are you doing here?”
The two cats looked and saw a brown tabby with white splotches staring at them with astonishment.
“Cinder Spot? Oh, it’s you!” cried Black Foot. “I thought you were a rogue or a kittypet.”
“Kittypet?” sneered Cinder Spot. “Those are just make believe.”
So the three of them were out hunting for a while, and came back with a shrew, three mice, a blackbird, and a robin.
The cats that hunted ate first, and then the other cats, Twisted Foot, Shadow Pelt, and Half Nose, all ate.
Twisted Foot walked over too the nursing den. “Hey Golden Mist, it’s feeding time,” he said. A yellow and white she-cat walked out with two kits. “Time to eat,” she said. “Come on Frost Pelt,” said one of the kits.
