I’ve heard from a lot of my readers about the villains, and the vast majority that have posted a reply on the blog or have sent me emails, all think Erebus is the best villain. What is it that makes everyone love to hate him? I’m curious what all of you think?
And by the way, Erebus will be back in Book 14, Attack of the Shadow-crafters, I think.
Mark
Erebus is just so cool. I don’t know why but he just is.
Well, Warrior_crafter, I have a reason why I like him, and here it is. I LIKE EREBUS BECAUSE HE IS DEAD!!!!
1) OMLEREBUSISCOMINGBACKYEE
2) I think I’m drawn to his cunning and craftiness. He was very clever when he took out Malacoda and he never showed weakness to Gameknight. I think he deserved to live as long as he did.
OML? What in the world does that stand for? O stands for Oh, M stands for My, but what does L stand for?
Lord, or lemons. They’re pretty interchangeable.
LOL
i like Xa-Tul and Feyd better
OF COURSE! WHAT IN THE WORLD MADE EREBUS SO POPULAR!? (P.S., I THINK IT IS BECAUSE THAT HE KILLED MALACODA.)
I think you right about him killing malacoda. I mean look at fyed, in every book he refuses to kill xa-tull. If it was erebus he would have already killed xa-tull.
i want xa-tul to live!!!!!!!!!
I am probably most drawn to Erebus because
1) I have only read the 1st three books XD
2) My username… is ENDERStar501… It kind of reflects my favorite dimension and the bias that comes with it lol
3) I think he’s really smart.
Look, everyone, The Ender Dragon is lame, The Wither is cool, but it ain’t cool enough! The coolest boss mob was mad by Dan TDM’s partner, Dr. Trayourus, he created a Dan TDM wither.
What the Brine!? How is he coming back? Gameknight collected his ENDER PEARL! Erebus is DEAD! How in the world does he come back alive?
magic! i thought Erebus was kinda cool but Malacoda was better
I disagree!
Malacoda can’t control himself, but erebus controls himself anyway. He is smart, powerful. But, Erebus is Erebus and he killed Malacoda only because he is an idiot and he doesn’t listen to anyone…
Anything is possible… imagine Gameknight’s trauma if Erebus returns! Haha!
Erebus doesn’t come back. Gameknight travels back in time in series 5.
Cause he goes into the past duh
HA HA this is an old post so I have read the book
This is surprisingly funny to do
I JUST CAN’T WAIT FOR HIM TO BE BACK!!!!
Me neither! Hype! \(^w^)/
HOLD ON HOLD THE PHONE, EREBUS IS COMING BACK??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Lol anyway, I think Erebus is just so well developed. And if he comes back, it’s probably gonna cause some fear in Gameknight, since he was the first “boss” Gameknight fought, sorta like what happened in Book 2, Battle for the Nether. (BTW, that one’s probably my favorite. Or the first one. Or third. Or fourth or fifth or sixth. I haven’t read #7 yet.) And besides, I really like Erebus (sorta. Liking a bad guy is hard for me). AND, how the World is he gonna come back anyway? Are the Brines gonna resurrect his somehow with their creepy Minecrat powers? I NEED MORE INTEL!!!! I NEED MORE BOOKS!!! ALL OF US DO!!!!!!!!!
Minecraft*, dumb auto correct
I completely agree about his development, he’s very evil but still very motivated and deep. And about Battle for the Nether being the best, it’s my favorite as well.
I like erebus to be honest. He is an enderman, which is my favourite mob, and he likes to kill people (even though that might not sound like a good thing, I have a dark mind so, that’s bonus points). The only down side is that he (just like everyone else) underestimates everything. He is also somewhat dim-witted.
yeah in the next series you should make the shadow-crafters remake Herobrine and then all of the types of mobs work for him (this includes friendly mobs.) and only a few villagers escape him and they have to stop hm but when gamekinight goes in he should bring shawny with him. Then at some point crafter gets turned evil by herobrine and is the king of all the new evil villagers. There should be kings for each mobs too. and at one point gameknight and shawny are seperated and can’t get back to each other and have to complete the journey on their own and they meet upagain at the final battle. I also think they should meet me and i am a user thatt has a father who made the same type of invention and i go in to help them but then in the fnal battle gameknight is about to be slain by herobrine near some lava and i tackle herobrine and we both go in the lava. then all good mobs go good again and any remaining hostle mob kings that were still alive escape and flee like cowards along with the shadowcrafters so the series can continue on for even longer! 🙂
OmG yeassss but enough of the killing
I think it is because he was Gameknight999’s first villan. He was also very hard to defeat. I’ll bet that GameKnight still shivers at the thought of him! I do too!
To be honest, I think that Erebus was the best villain because he:
1. Died, then came back to life.
2. Single-handedly outwitted Malacoda by letting the King of the Nether do all the hard work.
3. Was (in my opinion) one of the most cunning kings that GameKnight has fought.
Also Endermen are my favorite mob.
Unfortunately, like most of the other villains, he was overconfident in his own chances of winning, and that ultimately led to his downfall.
As a COMPLETE nerd in regards to these books who has read each one many multiple times (seriously, feel free to quiz me if you don’t believe me), I can understand why a lot of people pick Erebus as their favorite villain. I can remember my first time reading Invasion of the Overworld. I was skeptical, I was reading it because my grandfather wanted me to read more and play Minecraft less, I wasn’t expecting much. Suddenly I was sucked into the story like GK was sucked into the game, and the first thing that sent chills down my spine was that infamous red enderman (fun fact that probably no one cares about, I wasn’t able to imagine a good high-pitched voice for Erebus until a scene in the Nether in book 2, and instead used a really low, Darth Vader sort of voice for him in my head XD). In Battle for the Nether, those dreams LITERALLY gave me chills and I just wanted more! When he killed Malacoda in Confronting the Dragon, I literally started freaking out (in a good way)!
I think what people really like about him is that Erebus set the standard for future villains. He be the OG, y’all! I have reread the first series twice now (which means i have read it a total of three times) and each time that enderman has not failed to give me the chills in the best way! Even Herobrine doesn’t make me feel the way Erebus does when I read these books!
And seriously, I would love for people to leave random GK quiz questions from any book because I have read them all multiple times. Well, I only read the Mystery of Entity303 series once, but feel free to leave questions from those books too 😀
I think the reason people like Erebus is that he’s the villain that always makes you feel chills. He’s dark, mysterious, and interesting.
People love those types of characters, (like me).
He’s an awesome villain.
He’s so cool because he freaks Gameknight out AND he’s super smart. Remember how he died? Whenever I think about him coming back, I think he would be scared of water above him so bad he would fall over and beg for mercy.
Yep. It’s definitely because he scares Gameknight so much. Mark Cheverton makes us feel like Gameknight does, so he scares us but also excites us and THAT is why he is so awesome. Also, sneak peek! In the chapter I am writing right now, Gameknight accidentally brings Erebus back and he is terrified of water above him. I thinks it’s funny that the last comment on here was me saying that I think that would be cool. Bye
well, my 2 most favorite mobs in minecraft was endermen and wither skeletons, you can see that in my book “rise of the wither king”
and erebus, thought, he had a dark red color, and my favorite color is red and black, and i like his reactions and his intelligence, that’s all
I love Erebus he is awsome and cool
I feel so sad that he died
Erebus is awsome
I love Erebus so much because he is a enderman!
Feyd is way more smart because he doesn’t kill Xa-tul because he can’t rule the zombies himself.
He’s just so threatening! That part of Battle for the Nether where Gameknight has the dream that Erebus gets into the physical world?? That’s one of my all-time favorite moments from any of the books–it gave me chills the first time I read it! And he was so mysterious in the first book, too. I think part of it is that he’s the first villain we’re introduced to and he really sets the stage for what’s to come.
Other moments that just make him a really cool villain in my opinion are when Hunter’s been kidnapped and mans knows how to straight up break her spirit by putting her in a cage, and then when he finally kills Malacoda after putting up with him for so long (their dynamic was also absolutely hilarious and I love it)
